The craic was great at the IAS Christmas party on December 10, 2005. After the cocktail hour, our esteemed 2005 Irish Person of the Year, Sue Faulkner, announced the 2006 IPOY. We were all thrilled that Lula Maye Walsh received this wonderful honor. We were also lucky to have our 2005 Texas Rose of Tralee, Molly Kealy, in attendance. After a delicious dinner we watched a “Tribute to the Showbands” and danced the night away (as you can see from the pictures we have quite a few slick movers in the Dallas IAS). No Irish party would be complete without a sing-along, so it was great to hear everyone in fine voice as we enjoyed some Karaoke, Irish style.
We would like to thank Linda Murphy and Maggie Noone for their invaluable assistance with the planning of this event. We would also like to thank Eve Dunigan, Sue Faulkner, Bill Dohm and Kristy Tickner for their delicious additions to the dessert table.
The Gaylord Texan Resort deserves special recognition for their generous donation of the Grand prize for our raffle. Bill & Shelia Dohm were the lucky winners of this great prize. The raffle raised approximately $400 for the Christina Noble Childrens Foundation. Thanks to all of you who supported this worthy cause.
Last but not least we would like to thank all of you who attended the Christmas party. We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did. It was great to get into the Christmas spirit with so many wonderful friends.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
From your co-presidents, Phil and Dianne Lowry.
